Here are the photos from our trip to Hebron. I will again refer you to what my colleagues have already said about Hebron for more details. It is one of the most contentious cities in the West Bank with Israeli settlements and checkpoints in the heart of the old city. We went to the cave of the patriarchs and then we walked through one of the settlements, which was basically a ghost town as you can see in the photos. The contempt that some Israelis have for Palestinians is clear in the propaganda we saw scattered around the settlement. You can see fence wire covering the markets in the old city to protect people from rocks and debris thrown down from settlers living above. Hebron was a tense place–the conflict was palpable.
