United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA)

UNRWA (the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East) provides assistance, protection and advocacy for some 4.8 million registered Palestine refugees in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and the occupied Palestinian territory, pending a solution to their plight. UNRWA is funded almost entirely by voluntary contributions from UN member states. UNRWA is the main provider of basic services – education, health, relief and social services – to 4.8 million registered Palestine refugees in the Middle East.

Ramallah Medical Complex

The Ramallah Medical Complex is a combination of hospitals the offer various services to the Palestinian population. The Sheihk Zayed Hospital provides Emergency Care and the Ramallah Government Hospital provides general health care services.

Augusta Victoria Hospital

Since 1950 the Augusta Victoria Hospital (AVH) has been a project of the Lutheran World Federation. It’s main task has been to provide services for Palestinian Refugees in cooperation with UNRWA, the United Nations agency that has been responsible for the refugee-programs in the region since 1948. Today, the hospital continues to develop services for the Palestinian community, mostly on a charitable basis.

Makassed Hospital

Makassed Islamic Charitable Society was officially established in 1956. It is a Palestinian non-profit, non-governmental organization that provides diversified humanitarian services in the Holy Land in accordance with its by-laws, without discrimination by color, religion, creed, or political belief.

Rawabi

Rawabi will be the first Palestinian city to be built in accordance with a Masterplan. The Masterplan provides direction for the way the new city will grow and flourish and how future land use decisions will contribute to the achievement of social, economic and environment goals.

As a new urban development – the first new city in recent Palestinian history, planning and design of Rawabi takes its cues from both local and temporary practices. The development of Rawabi provides the opportunity to learn from best practice and to build a city, which will become a model for future development in Palestine.
